UVA Human Subject Research Training (CITI)

The University of Virginia requires every investigator/key personnel to complete CITI training in Human Subject Research Protection every 3 years. Initial training requires the UVA online course on human subject protections. Training includes a HIPAA module. Voluntary education, such as educational activities aimed at UVA researchers, the community, at large, IRB-HSR members, and UVA administration are scheduled throughout the calendar year. Please note that if you are a part of a team conducting human subject research, the training required is: IRB-HSR: ALL RESEARCH -the Basic Course. You will be required to take the REFRESHER course every three years to maintain your certification. Select "Visit Website" button on this page to access further instructions.
