Grand Challenge on Digital Technology & Youth Healthy Development
Please join this growing research community and help shape the Grand Challenge Initiative! The Grand Challenge has been recently launched and will focus on digital technology and youth mental health development (ages 11-25). With this Grand Challenge, UVA will advance understanding of the role of digital technologies in healthy development, and the ways that generation and dissemination of digital mental health programs can help address the youth mental health crisis. This initiative will catalyze and grow the expertise at UVA, and foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary community conducting cutting edge research about both the impact of digital technology on healthy and unhealthy youth development, and its potential to advance intervention and prevention solutions.
We will support researchers across the university at all levels to increase their capacity for innovative, impactful research on digital technologies and youth mental health by inviting them to:
• Apply for a seed grant
• Get training in digital technology research methods
• Mentor a funded postdoc
• Attend conferences & events
• Connect with community & industry partners
• Learn from a youth advisory board
• Get support applying for extramural grants
