Patient and Family Lodging: Hospitality House
UVA Hospitality House provides short term lodging accommodations for adult (age 18 and above – no children) patients and their guest who must travel distances greater than 60 miles for treatment at UVA Health System. The house, located on 14th Street, contains 8 suites. Each suite provides a shared living space that includes 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room and washer/dryer. The first floor is wheelchair accessible. All guests must be able to provide total care for themselves. The fee is $10/night/person with only 2 guests per reservation. The patient and one guest are allowed to stay, or if the patient is an inpatient, 2 family members are allowed to stay. All outpatients must have verifiable scheduled appointments and may only stay immediately before, during and/or after their appointment. There is no Wi-Fi but a guest computer available. Check in time is by 7:00 pm unless other arrangements have been made for late arrival. The Medical Center courtesy shuttle serves the Hospitality House. The Hospitality House is a short walk or shuttle bus ride from the hospital and close to restaurants and shopping. Staff and volunteers are available 24/7 to offer support.
