Bioinformatics Core
This core serves as a centralized resource for providing expert and timely bioinformatics consulting and data analysis solutions. The Bioinformatics Core's mission is to build and maintain an infrastructure that enables the application of strong bioinformatics analysis with a measurable impact on the ability of UVA investigators to both publish their work and obtain new funding. Services include custom bioinformatics and bio statistical support, DNA variation, binding, methylation and sequence-based analysis, grant and manuscript support, and pathway and functional analysis. Instrumentation is provided by shared access to 92 multi-core high memory computing noted as part of a high-performance computing cluster, access to subscription-based software for bioinformatics analysis, and software packages.
