Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
Reporting to the Vice President for Research, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) facilitates research administration at the University of Virginia on behalf of the research community. Pre-Award is responsible for collaborating with Principal Investigators and their teams to review and submit proposals for sponsored research. The Grants and Contracts team negotiates and accepts awards and contracts (including NFAs and incoming/outgoing subawards) with a wide variety of sponsors. Upon award execution, OSP post-award provides a comprehensive service in financial award management, compliance, and audit. OSP is located in Carruthers Hall.
OSP's mission is to provide leadership in research administration, support the research endeavors of University faculty, ensure the responsible stewardship of research funding, and oversee the submission of proposals and the negotiation and acceptance of awards by the University according to State, University and sponsor regulations.
The OSP Contracts Team is available to provide strategic consultation on all aspects of industry, federal, and non-profit contracting, and members of the research community are encouraged to reach out to their Contract Negotiators with any questions.
