What Is Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Research?
Dissemination research is defined as the scientific study of targeted distribution of information and intervention materials to a specific public health or clinical practice audience. The intent is to understand how best to communicate and integrate knowledge and the associated evidence-based interventions.1
Implementation research is defined as the scientific study of the use of strategies to adopt and integrate evidence-based health interventions into clinical and community settings to improve individual outcomes and benefit population health.1
TIDIRC created eight training modules that make up the TIDIRC OpenAccess course. The modules can be viewed together as a whole or individually by section. Before starting the course trainees should create a Dissemination & Implementation (D&I) research project idea. From there Trainees can move through the modules to build up their project idea. These eight modules include videos, readings, and self-reflection questions. After completing the modules, trainees can workshop their proposed projects using what they've learned.
