Flow Cytometry Core Facility
The Flow Cytometry Core Facility (FCCF) works closely with investigators to identify their research needs, develop an appropriate flow cytometric approach, assist in the implementation of the experimental design, and guide in the data analysis and presentation of the data. The staff of the FCCF consider themselves "partners in your single cell analysis needs". We provide a wide variety of tools to support everything from the simplest to the most complex of single cell studies, including mass cytometry (CyTOF), imaging flow cytometry (ImagestreamXMKII), spectral flow cytometry (Aurora), cell sorting (Aria Fusion, Influx, FACSVantage, AutoMACSPro), multiplexed bead based assays (Magpix), and high dimensional computation analysis of flow and mss cytometry data (Astrolabe Diagnostics). By providing these services, as well as the scientific expertise necessary to effectively use this technology, the facility serves to enhance the scope and quality of scientific research performed at the University. The FCCF also regularly offers full week training courses that include didactic as well as hands on training. UVA researchers have the option, once trained, of performing their own acquisition/analysis or utilizing the expertise of the facility's staff to run their samples for them. This core is housed in Pinn Hall (Room 2011 and 2013).
