UVA Mini-Med School
The University of Virginia Mini-Med School YouTube Channel has released a special podcast series, "COVID-19/Charlottesville!"
Given the rapidly evolving information and uncertainty surrounding the COVID19 pandemic, the Mini-Med team has gathered information straight from experts here at UVA and make this information available on-line to the Charlottesville community. All 12 segments of the podcast, which cover topics ranging from the availability of testing with Dr. Amy Mathers, to racial disparities with Dr. Taison Bell, were written and produced by third and fourth year UVA medical students with guidance from Dr. Sean Reed, the Director of the UVA Mini-Med School program. We are grateful to the many individuals who volunteered their time to make this presentation.
The UVA Mini-Med School is a free program that is open to the public. It's taught by the faculty and medical students in the UVA School of Medicine and is a lot of fun! The program's goals include helping to raise the health literacy of our community, exploring the powerful contributions of medical research, providing a glimpse of the state of the art teaching methodologies used to train the next generation of physicians, and exposure to the many possibilities of a rewarding career in the health professions.
Please enjoy the Podcast and help us get the word out about this new resource! Our hope is that our YouTube channel will serve as an additional medium to continue empowering the Mini-Med School students and greater Charlottesville community with practical medical knowledge.
