ClinicalTrials.gov Administrator at UVA
Description: ClinicalTrials.gov is a website and online database that serves as a comprehensive hub for information on clinical research studies and their outcomes. Its primary goal is to offer easily accessible details about these studies to the general public, researchers, and healthcare professionals. Registration and results reporting on ClinicalTrials.gov are mandatory for FDA-regulated applicable clinical trials, NIH-sponsored clinical trials, and by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME).
The ClinicalTrials.gov platform operates by relying on sponsors or investigators to submit and regularly update information about ongoing and completed studies. For investigator initiated trials at UVA, the required registering and reporting responsibility falls to the Investigator and study team. The Investigator is responsible for keeping the record up-to-date and reporting results once the study is completed.
Resource: The SOM Clinical Trials Office has a team member dedicated to overseeing this process and providing support when problems arise. If you need support with your ClinicalTrials.gov registration and reporting requirements, please reach out to UVA's ClinicalTrials.gov Administrator – Jodi Darring.
