Some research studies have identified medications that are contraindicated for use in patients enrolled in that study. The contraindication may be related to a medication that, if given, could potentially cause the patient harm, or result in a protocol violation and cauting the patient to be withdrawn from the study. Epic provides the opportunity to create a "contraindicated medication warning" for select research studies that will be triggered when one of these medications is signed.
