UVA PHI: A Community-Partner System based approach to facilitate recovery in pediatric athletes with concussion

High school athletes are at risk for poor outcomes after sport related concussion due to delayed removal from sport, limited resources, and highly variable healthcare. The Sport as a Laboratory Assessment Model (SLAM) has reduced recovery time and poor outcomes after injury in University of Virginia collegiate athletes. Our community research-partnership will implement the SLAM within Albemarle County Public Schools to mitigate poor outcomes after SRC in high school athletes.
