National Hospital Care Survey, 2020 public-use file
As a principal source of information on health care utilization in the United States, NHCS collects inpatient and emergency department data from a nationally representative sample of U.S. hospitals sourced from administrative and electronic health records data. The 2020 NHCS is conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics [NCHS] and is a member of the National Health Care Surveys – a family of surveys which measure health care utilization across a variety of health care providers and settings.
